FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What can I expect during my first Try Training session?

First of all, congrats on taking the next step in your fitness journey! We develop personalized plans for your specific fitness goals, so during your first visit, you can expect to have a thorough consulation with your trainer. This will include a review of your health history, fitness goals, any past & present injuries, and addressing any questions/concerns you have. We will then gauge your general fitness level by doing a quick workout. This will help us determine which training option would be the best fit for your specific needs -- whether that's one-on-one training so you can learn proper form and techniques, semi-personal training so you can work out at your own pace, or large group training so you can work out alongside other advanced fitness enthusiasts. Here are some extra tips to help you prepare for your first Try Training session:

  • Wear comfortable shoes that you can excercise in.
  • Bring a towel and plenty of water.
  • Be ready to talk about your fitness goals.

What is the difference between semi-personal training and large group training?

Semi-personal training is a great option for those who are new to fitness or are trying to get back in shape after some time away from the gym. Our semi-personal training is designed with you in mind, so your workouts are customized for your personal needs, your personal pace and your personal schedule. You will be exercising at your own pace under the supervision of some of the best trainers out there. Large group training is recommended for those who are already familiar with the gym and simply love a challenging workout. Our large group training classes offer high intensity workouts (typically 45-60 minutes long) on a set schedule. If you love a challenge and prefer working out alongside your peers, large group training may be for you. At Generation 3 Fitness, our goal is to get you to the fitness level you desire while minimizing the chances of injury -- and have fun while doing it. That's why we always recommend coming in for a Try Training consultation session first -- this will help us determine which training option would be best fit based on your level of comfort, fitness and overall goals.

What are the large group training classes like? Will I enjoy them?

Working out doesn't need to be a chore; it should be fun and engaging. That's why our large group training classes focus on a wide variety of high-intensity workouts, so you'll always feel challenged and excited each time you walk through our doors. To learn more about our large group training classes, just check out our class schedule!

I’m a performance athlete. Will Generation 3 Fitness provide enough of a challenge for me?

Absolutely. We have several options for athletes who are already performing at high levels. We recommend one-on-one or semi-personal training with our fitness trainers for a more challenging and specific workout experience. Several of our trainers are competitive bodybuilders, so they understand know exactly how to enhance your physique.

I'm new to fitness. Will I be able to keep up during large group training classes?

With any fitness regimen, we recommend starting slowly and working your way up to more challenging exercises. Large group classes are fast paced and high intensity, so fitness newbies often find that our semi-personal training or one-on-one training is the better fit for them. To make sure you find the best training option for your specific level of fitness, comfort, and overall goals, we highly recommend signing up for a Try Training consultation before registering for the different training options. We have many years of experience working with individuals at all levels of fitness, so we will help you find the best fitness regimen for your needs.
